The Annual Meeting of German Catalysts enters the next round – join us in Weimar from 13 to 15 March 2024!

The conference has established itself as one of the most important European catalysis events and covers all aspects from researching the fundamentals of catalysis, understanding catalytic processes and catalyst design to reaction engineering and industrial applications. More than 400 professionals from universities, research institutes and industry meet annually to present their research findings, exchange ideas and share new developments and the latest results in all areas of catalysis.

As in previous years, the conference has a dual focus: to showcase the state of the art in research and development from theory to application and to offer young researchers the opportunity to present their scientific results, discuss with peers and build and expand a professional network. For the 2024 edition, renowned plenary speakers from academia and industry have been invited to provide additional highlights in the scientific programme of the conference. As at previous meetings, an industry exhibition and several poster workshops will accompany the scientific programme.

Various prizes will be awarded during the Annual Meeting of German Catalysts

  • Otto Roelen Medal
The Otto Roelen Medal is awarded to international candidates who have made outstanding achievements and significant contributions in catalysis research, particularly in application-oriented research. The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros and is sponsored by OQ Chemicals GmbH.
  • Jochen Block Prize
The German Catalysis Society and DECHEMA award this prize to promote young scientists in the field of catalysis. The prize is awarded for research and development work by young scientists in the field of catalysis who have not yet been appointed to a full professorship and who have made a special contribution to the field of catalysis through fundamental and original research. The award winner should not be older than 40 years. The Jochen Block Prize is endowed with 3,000 euros and is sponsored by Clariant.
  • Poster Award
A poster exhibition will take place during the conference, where the five best posters will be honoured with a poster prize (100 Euro).
  • Red Lions
The “Red Lions” are awarded to authors who have published a large number of papers at several Annual Meetings of German Catalysts.
